Located only 15 mins drive North of Khao Lak town, Pakarang beach is the up and coming spot we're talking about. The shallow part is gentle and perfect for first-timers and beginners, and if you paddle out far enough, you can find bigger surf that's challenging for intermediates and satisfying for advanced surfers as well.

Ao Tho Li viewpoint is situated on the edge of Phang Nga Bay in Southern Thailand. While there are 155 islands in the Andaman Ocean on the West Coast of Thailand, 42 small islands amongst those sit in the shallow-ish water of Phang Nga Bay territory. As the viewpoint is high up on the hillside, visitors can enjoy the fantastic view overlooking the North part of Phang Nga Bay.
Myanmar Freediving Spot “Laem Tuptim” | MERGUI ARCHIPELAGO
Laem Tuptim Pinnacle is one of the more memorable spots as it is up against a pinnacle with a sea wall that drops at least 20m straight down. Along the wall, from the surface of the water, you have a stunning variety of sea fans of all colours sizes and shapes with a myriad of tiny fish and decent sized schools of big fish in attendance.
Nyaung Oo Phee Island Resort | Accessible from RANONG – THAILAND
Having been based in Thailand the past 7 years with Myanmar as a direct neighbour hadn’t diminished our own curiosity about visiting ‘one day’. Though the mainland itself offers a wealth of potential adventures alone, this time we decided to discover the untouched Mergui Archipelago. Nyaung Oo Phee Island Resort was our home during our visit.
Nyaung Oo Phee Island | Myanmar Mergui Archipelago
Nyaung Oo Phee Island lies at the southern end of Mergui's 800 scattered islands. Formerly known as McKenzie Island whilst under British rule it has since changed to it's far more exotic (though harder to pronounce*) name in honour of one of Myanmar's historical heroes.

Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park | YUDANAKA – NAGANO – JAPAN
We answer the question 'Does soaking in Onsen hot springs all day make THESE monkeys less evil creatures?' The snow monkey park of Jigokudani offers visitors the incredible opportunity to get close and personal with nature's most relaxed monkeys.
